A lot has happened since my last post. I have moved into my apartment, attended band camp, gotten far too intoxicated, busted up my knee playing beer pong (full contact), started classes, and survived the first three days. There is not really much to talk about though… Classes are pretty good. The betes is pretty good. Getting a dog this weekend back home, I’ll be sure to post pictures. She’s an English Mastiff, about one year old, supposedly weighs in around 200 pounds. Already. Dear Lord, what are we getting into, again? haha
Until then,
Tom.
Went to the Endo on Thursday. A1c is 6.4, it’s come up .4, but in my endo’s words “The A1c test isn’t exact, so there really isn’t too much of a difference from the 6.0 from the beginning of the summer to the 6.4 of today. You’ve actually probably just been floating around 6.2 the entire time.” hahaha….. what? I mean, I understand the words that came out of the man’s mouth… but… huh? I just sorta rolled with it, nodded my head, smiled, shook the man’s hand, and got outta there.
I’m happy about my A1c, though. Thought it was going to be around 7.0 due to that slump I had for a few weeks, not to mention going to the shore for a week and trying to leave the D at home. :-p
In other news, the tattoo has started to scab up, but I’m keeping it moisturized, and it’s not looking bad at all. It’s a tidbit faded, but I’ve been told that’s how it works (Where does that renewed vibrancy come from if it is leaving my body on the scabs that fall off?). Overall, though, I’m happy with the tattoo, and have already started drawing up another one for my shoulder or back. It’s gonna be bangin. I feel so old now, I just said “bangin”. How 1990’s of me. :-)
Moved the majority of my furniture into my apartment today, with the help of my dad, mom, and sis. Looking to be pretty comfortable, even though the apartment itself is a dump. Should be an interesting year.

I finally got a tattoo. I found a nice, clean place down the road a bit from where I live. It’s got plenty of awards and plenty of word-of-mouth advertising… So I set my appointment last week for tonight at 6:30pm, and then I waited. I went in with my Momma, who seems to be a bit schizo when it comes to the idea of tattoos. She hated the idea at first, then she liked it, then she said “It’s your body, honey.”, and then she seemed to hate it again… and tonight she hated the idea, but then stood there looking at tattoo designs saying “Oh, I like that one… How about this one on my foot? Hmmm?” :-)
Well anyways, I got the tattoo from a guy named Chad, seemed like a pretty neat guy. Had a massive collection of action figures all over his wall (mostly Spawn and Kiss figures) and has a good-looking family out there somewhere. Very nice, that Chad character is. Tattoo took maybe 30 minutes total, and while the sensation of the needle itself was… interesting…. it was not overall a bad 30 minutes. I admit, I did get a bit pale at the beginning, but by the end all of my color was back, and my sweat glands had stopped releasing a flood of sweat. :-p
So I have been inked forever. So far, the almost two hours of inkedness hasn’t been too bad. I can’t even feel it now. Which is fine by me. I’d rather just look at it and smile. Here’s a picture. It is kanji for “Serenity” or “Tranquility”. Some also translate it as “Calm” or “Quiet”. All of these translations are fine by me. I’ve got quite the anger issues and am working towards a more tranquil and anger-managed life. :-p

Thanks y’all,
_Tom.
*Edit: The tattoo’s on the inside of my left wrist, if you can’t tell from the picture. :-p
Hey all,
I just finished editing a few of my photos from the beach. I’m just going to throw them up here, and as I finish more over the next few days, I’ll simply amend them to the end of the post instead of making a ton of little posts. I’m going to make them all thumbnails in the post, and then they should link to the full-sized image (usually 800px by 600px).
So here we go.
*Edit: All of my image editing has been done in Adobe Photoshop CS2. That black bird was a pretty cool dude, the seagull was a grump, and the sun was rising. 6:11am I believe, and boy was I grumpy. That was shortly after a sugar-induced nightmare and setting a new site while still half asleep. :-)
